Modern Piaseczno:
Piaseczno is surprisingly calm, despite being only 17 km from Warsaw. It is an ideal place to relax, for example, while visiting nearby Warsaw. The easy access and the ability to quickly move from Piaseczno to Warsaw can also convince business travelers because they can easily relax in peace and quiet in Piaseczno.
In recent years, Piaseczno has consistently topped the national rankings of local governments, both in terms of budget, investment spending, and attractiveness to private businesses.
The dynamic growth in the number of residents and numerous new investors mean, on the one hand, additional revenues to the commune budget, and on the other hand, great expectations that the local government must meet.
The municipality of Piaseczno spends almost 50 percent on investment tasks. Every year a new educational institution is opened in the commune (in 2009, a new gymnasium in Golkowa, an expanded school complex in Hilice and three state kindergartens: in Zalesie Gurne, Zalesie Dolny and Gloskov), as well as expanding sports facilities. Hundreds of millions of zlotys were spent on the program for the construction of a sewerage and water supply network, as well as for the reconstruction of sewage treatment plants within the framework of the Cohesion Fund. Consistently every year, an increasing part of the budget is allocated to the construction and modernization of roads and support of the public transport system.
Since 2005, the commune has had a Sustainable Development Strategy. Currently, one of the priorities is the implementation of the Local City Center Revitalization Program. The municipality, in cooperation with the well-known Dutch urban planning and consulting company RDH, has prepared a concept for the development of the city center, which is based on the reconstruction of the three main squares of the city, the development of the city park and the restoration of the narrow gauge railway section.
Piasechno looks to the future:
Reconstruction and construction of cultural facilities:
Work will continue on the modernization of two historic buildings in the very center of the city. In 2023, the comprehensive reconstruction of the Old Presbytery will be completed, which will become the residence of the Piaseczno Museum.
The building of the former guardhouse on the street will be modernized. Puławska 3. The Museum of Contemporary Art Jozef Wilkoń will appear here.
The historic Ponyatovka estate in the city park will be renovated (2024). One of the branches of the Piaseczno Museum and a cafe will operate in the building.
The construction of a theater and cinema hall and a new town hall is planned as part of the implementation of the new vision of the city center contained in the Piaseczno renovation project.
Construction of social and cultural facilities:
One of the priority investments is the construction of a swimming pool on the street. Khilichkovskaya in Piaseczno.
The second major sports facility in the commune is the construction of a sports hall at the school in Zlotoklos. The road network around the school will also be restored.
In 2023, it is planned to start work on the construction of a school in Yulianów. A road network is being built here that will serve the new educational institution. This educational investment, which is extremely important for the northern part of the commune, along with the road system serving it, should be ready in 2025.
Road construction:
The construction and reconstruction of roads continues. PLN 100 million is allocated for road investments.
One of the most important tasks is the complete package of access roads to the Antoninów junction on the S7 route. The reconstruction of Sienkiewicz Street and the intersection of Okulitsky and Voyska Polsky streets are being designed.
In 2023, the construction of Tukanow Street will continue until the intersection with Jarzonbka Street and the reconstruction of Urbanistów Street. It is planned to build new roads along the streets Polna in Hilice, Kordiana in Piaseczno, Wild Flowers in Wulka Kozodavska and Forest Birds in Jastrzemba.
Greening the city:
Modernization of historical buildings in the center of Piaseczno is not the only task to improve the image of the city. In 2023, two squares in the very center will be reconstructed. The landscaping project for the market square has already been approved by the monument conservator. Piłsudski Square will have new trees that will provide shade in the hot summer.
The square at the intersection of Puławska and Jan Pavel II streets will also acquire a new, greener and friendlier face. The first trees have already been planted behind the converted former fire station. Further plantings, together with small architecture objects, will appear in the passage behind the fire station, as well as in the park adjacent to the building.
